PURPOSE
Senior buyer strategic sourcing shall implement and execute category strategies. This position entails strategic relationship, contracting, evaluating and developing new suppliers, supplier site visits and generating corresponding reports, participation in negotiation of assigned contracts, performance review and improvement of the supply base. The concerned person is responsible for achieving the best possible cost savings and most beneficial supply base for a particular category of assigned category for the company. He/she shall conduct analysis of supplier spend reports and category strategy to identify improvement areas.
Education & Relevant Experience:
~2-5 years diversified experience in Procurement.
CIPS/CSCP or similar relevant accreditation preferred
Individual contributor managing assigned category.
Relevant degree in SC, Finance and / or related technical fields.
Ability to interact with stakeholders at senior levels from different functions
Proactive, autonomous, fast learner, curious, results driven
Ability to deliver results while working with cross-functional teams
Expert level MS skills
User of SAP MM Module/ARIBA preferred
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1 Execution
Execute the rationalization of Supplier Base for assigned categories (locally or globally) based on deductions from market analyses resulting in optimal pricing, mitigating of risk, reduction of lead times and improved supply network.
Execute sourcing decisions based on business cases developed by team through all Strategic sourcing activities which includes understanding business demand, external environment and supply market analysis, risk assessments and identification of opportunities for driving value.
Negotiate contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
Marked contribution in driving change through process improvements and changes in status quo for long-term enterprise benefits.
2 Business Continuity/Risk Management and Compliance
Risk Assessment of assigned Categories/Portfolio and Mitigation Plans
Execute Contract Management plans to ensure business continuity and drive supplier performance through effective relationship management.
Accountable for implementation of Procurement Policy and/or other relevant policies that impact own area of work.
Report out Risks for appropriate action
Ensure implementation of all law/regulations-enforced clauses in contracts/terms of agreement.
Ensure delivery of assigned KPIs that impact internal customer requirements and business operations.
3 Stakeholder Management
Implement Business and related cross-functional team members’ engagement periodically, at different levels for managing expectations, identifying and reporting out risks, presenting innovative supply chain solution/category strategies.
Identification of Key Suppliers and Strategic Partners for managing relationship and driving value through collaboration and business partnering techniques as part of Supplier Relationship Management Plans.
Maintain Supply market and external environment network for market intelligence both locally and globally.
Ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement plans post analyses.
4 People Management
Drive results through cross functional team for effective implementation of Category Strategies
Coach and train team for better performance.
Regular performance reviews and feedback session for individual development.
