Purpose

Managing the import shipments completely from arrival to delivery of goods till the end user. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant clearance of imported goods and must have adequate knowledge of Pakistan Customs Tariff. The person on this role will need to have good knowledge of Customs laws and regulations, complete customs processes, Port and shipping operations. In addition, this role will require the person to stay up-to-date of all changes in the logistics industry including policies, procedures, duties, taxes, and trends to stay parallel with the market and be able to implement any changes.

Education & Relevant Experience:   

Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years (preferably 3) of hands-on port and customs clearance and operations experience.
 

Areas of Responsibility:

Custom Clearance and Port Operations
Manages all communication between stakeholders to ensure smooth custom clearance process (this may require physical visits of customs office and freight forwarders)+A15
Ensure timely calculation and payment of all import related duties and port charges to ensure minimization of demurrage and detention
Coordination with Freight Forwarders for smooth clearance of cargo from port (Gate Out)
 
 
 
Inland Cargo Transport
Identify vehicle requirement basis cargo being imported and coordinate with both internal and external resources to align vehicle
coordinate with vehicle driver and ensure arrangement of all relevant documents and clearances to ensure smooth transport of cargo
Ensure all HSE related requirements in terms of transport and loading/offloading are complete and fulfilled before operations commence
 
 
 
Vendor Billing and Data Analysis
Verification and processing of all vendor billing
Gather, analyze and present metrics related to I&C to Logistics and Supply Chain Leadership
