Purpose:
This role is responsible for overseeing and managing safety and adherence to HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) standards at Fleet department. The primary focus is to maintain efficient, safe fleet operations while ensuring full compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
The position involves ensuring safe practices at KE Fleet workshop, managing the on-site maintenance workshop, and monitoring safety protocols for hired / Owned / Spot Vehicles.
Additionally, this role has the responsibility to perform the general administration responsibilities for the location including all coordination with Admin, Civil and Works, and FMS departments.
Education & Relevant Experience:
• Minimum bachelor’s degree, preferably master’s in relevant field
• 02 to 03 years of experience in Fleet management.
• Experience in handling HSEQ related matters of a department
• Experience in Process Optimization, resource conservations.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Safety Management
Fleet Safety Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive Safety management for the fleet. This includes determining hazards, identifying key Safety indicators, and Safety maintenance protocols to ensure Accident/incident free operations
Implement RCA to minimize incident/Accident
Development of annual budget pertaining to Safety, in line with the strategic goals and objectives set by Logistics Head
Promote the health and safety of employees at work and of service users through the implementation of the HSEQ policy on health, safety and welfare at work and Service Health and Safety arrangements in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements, leading by example.
Support employees by applying people management skills e.g., staff motivation, team building and conflict resolution.
Driver Safety Training: Organizing and conducting safety training programs for drivers and staff, focusing on defensive driving, proper vehicle handling, and emergency response.
Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Staying up-to-date with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and ensuring that the fleet complies with all safety regulations.
Monitoring Preventative Maintenance Programs: Overseeing preventative maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles are serviced regularly to prevent breakdowns, accidents, and safety hazards.
Auditing Third-Party Contractors: Ensuring that all external contractors and suppliers comply with the organization’s HSEQ and safety standards when providing services related to the fleet.
Emergency Response Management: Developing and implementing emergency response procedures for accidents or hazardous situations involving fleet vehicles, ensuring that staff knows how to respond appropriately.
2 Routine and SPOT Safety Audits
Coordinate with the respective Safety departments pertaining to the Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual safety related audits (Fire Safety, Environment, Quality, Corporate Safety)
Support each department in their audit activity
Summarize and analyze the observations shared and develop rectification strategies
Share appropriate responses to observations with the relevant department after review from Lead and HoD Logistics
3 Stakeholder Management
Close liaison with both internal and external stakeholder with open communication to ensure understanding of stakeholder perspectives and issues and to communicate and advise on the HSEQ avenues being undertaken by Logistics.
Provide effective and transparent communication to all internal and external stakeholders to have their confidence in any Incident/Accident-related learning and safety protocol implementation
4 Compliance & HSE
Enforcing and ensuring adherence to the company’s safety protocols and HSEQ standards in fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, driving practices, and incident reporting
To ensure that day to day operations must be performed as per the HSE policies set by KE.
Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards is a critical responsibility of the fleet maintenance manager. They keep up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to maintain the fleet's compliance and implement safety measures to protect both drivers and the public.
Accident Investigation and Reporting: Investigating any accidents or incidents involving fleet vehicles, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Maintaining Safety Records: Keeping detailed records of vehicle maintenance, safety inspections, driver training, and any accidents or incidents, ensuring that safety-related documentation is always up-to-date.
Risk Assessment: Performing regular risk assessments for all fleet-related activities, identifying potential hazards, and implementing measures to mitigate them.
