Purpose
The purpose of this designation is to ensure smooth operations of combined cycle power plant and its auxiliaries as per OEM guidelines and operational best practices. Hence to monitor GT, ST, HRSG and all the other auxiliaries for safe operation.
Supervise and liaise successfully with shift lead to report Operational issues.
To monitor the plant operations vigilantly and maintain the records and report any abnormality observed in the parameters during regular operations, or during startup/shutdown. Hence ensuring that plant is operated with Plant Availability, Reliability and Efficiency at an optimum level in line with objectives, guidelines and procedures of the company.

B. Tech/DAE (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or chemical)

Functional Competencies
Area of Responsibilities
1. OPERATIONS.
1. Making sure the availability of plant, ready to start and immediate response to system’s requirement.
2. To carry out regular inspection of plant. Ensuring that the plant is operated in most efficient practice. Reporting the status of plant to next colleague during handing over shift for continuity.
3. To carry out smooth, safe and efficient operation during startup, normal operation and shutdown of the plant as per SOP
4. To confirm and carry out safe isolation and normalization of plant equipment.
2. PLANT TROUBLESHOOTING.
1. To assist in defects troubleshooting as and when necessary.
3. PLANT IMPROVEMENT AND PROBLEM ANALYSIS.
1. To assist Manager shift on plant problem analysis and propose plant improvement where necessary.
4. ROUTINE CHANGEOVER AND TESTS.
1. To ensure smooth changeover of plant or equipment according to schedule. The operations of the system must be monitored closely specially during the initial operations. Standard operating procedures must be observed. Defects or deviations noticed during test must be submitted to the maintenance section through SAP as soon as possible. Record of change over and operating parameters must be recorded in the respective log
5. ROUTINE TEST.
1. Ensure the readiness of plant or equipment by performing standard test procedures. Defects or deviations noticed during test must be submitted to maintenance section through SAP as soon as possible. Record of each test must be submitted to Shift DGM/Manager.
6. PLANT AND PERSONAL SAFETY
1. Have to clear the PTW authorization test and interview.
2. Have to clear the HV/MV/LV switching authorization test and interview.
3. Ensure full implementation of PTW isolation, normalization, etc.
4. Report dangerous occurrence.
5. Ensure usage of PPE for all personnel.
6. Ensure Passive and Active fire protection & detective systems in place.
7. To implement safety program as per EHS (environment, health, & safety) committee requirement.
8. To confirm proper isolation made by the other section prior to execute plant maintenance, inspection or job request work.
9. To confirm proper termination of electrical supply and valve isolation prior to executes job request.
10. To participate in toolbox meeting.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for supervision, administration, management and control over all subordinate employees.
2. Advising the superior to implement various methods for the improvement of the working of the section/unit practice and maintain good housekeeping at work place.
PLANT IMPROVEMENT
1. To do efficiency monitoring for improvement.
2. To monitor Plant trending for improvement.
DOCUMENTATION HANDLING INCLUDING DRAWINGS AND MANUALS.
1. To confirm and carry out safekeeping of documents including drawings and manuals.
2. To assist shift engineer in documents updating as changes are made.
3. COMUPTERIZED MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT (SAP)
1. To understand and optimize utilization of SAP.
4. TRAINING.
1. To attend training for self well being, discipline, knowledge, skill, performance and competency.
2. To train and develop other employees in operation knowledge and skills
