Job Function:

To assist Deputy Managers, I&C in ensuring plant availability and reliability; Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance of Instrumentation and Control Systems in Combined Cycle Power Plant in accordance with company procedures, quality and safety guidelines.

 

Job Description:

  • Ensuring maintenance and serviceability of all instrumentation, F&G detection/suppression, and similar equipment
  • Conducting regular checks of instrumentation for correct function and settings
  • Performing routine and outage maintenance with the help of AE (I&C) and outage staff
  • Planning and arranging scheduled maintenance outages with the assistance of AM/DM (Instrument & Control)
  • Managing contractor staff during outages and for executing various projects and services in I&C
  • Executing and supporting all instrumentation and control maintenance activities
  • Coordinating operations and other maintenance sections to ensure smooth plant operation and maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying faults assigned
  • Assigning maintenance parties as per the requirements of daily jobs
  • Recording maintenance history of equipment
  • Arranging requisitions/local purchases for workshop spare parts and materials, and ensuring economic stock levels
  • Verifying and inspecting delivered materials and submitting reports to AM/DM (I&C) against issued purchase orders
  • Providing round-the-clock shift support for plant operations as instructed by the Manager (I&C), when necessary
  • Attaining Competent Person authorization within one month of deputation to receive work permits for I&C maintenance
  • Developing procedures and ensuring good housekeeping for a clean workplace and proper waste disposal
  • Maintaining records of staff attendance, leave, and overtime
  • Performing any task assigned by the Head of Department related to departmental functions
  • Attending skill development and departmental procedural training as identified through TNA
  • Maintaining discipline by ensuring punctuality and adherence to rules
  • Training and mentoring new team members, particularly on sectional procedures
  • Using ERP software (SAP) for record-keeping and timely activity updates
  • Ensuring observance of safety measures

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possesses knowledge related to power plant operations, particularly in Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine systems
  • Demonstrates in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of field instrumentation
  • Has functional knowledge of control systems and DCS, with strong proficiency in I&C troubleshooting
  • Is proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CMMS/SAP

 

 

Qualification/Experience:

DAE Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation + 10 years of relevant professional experience or

B. Tech Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation + 8 years of relevant professional experience
