Purpose


The purpose of this position is to drive and take ownership on identifying state of the art technology, world class AMI use cases in synergy with the technological roadmap within the AMI ambit and their realization through conducting proof of concepts (POCs)/Pilots. The functional role being a leader in achieving network resilience through strategic technological interventions, system upgradations and integrations enhancing network health and faults reduction with the objective of their seamless integration and mapping in existing KE network realizing pre-defined benefits and maximizing potential returns within the limits of organizational policies and SOPs, departmental objectives and directions/guidelines from supervisor.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Education & Relevant Experience:

BS Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Computer Science)

5+ years’ experience

Job Responsibility

1. Explore and Implement AMI Based Initiatives (Use Cases)

     
Lead technological projects as per strategic roadmap for implementing AMI based initiatives to align departmental objectives with organization’s strategic objectives. This includes:

Realize AMI initiatives (use cases) and conduct feasibility analysis with respect to KE dynamics to benefit company technology implementation
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for architecture design and systems integration.
Develop high level project scope, cost estimation and schedule; identify delivery team; and sign-off of project charter for enabling project kick-off
Compile annual sourcing plan enlisting resource requirement of all the projects and liaison with BF, MM and Procurement to ensure timely ordering.
Direct the delivery team during planning and execution phase to ensure end to end project delivery
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Cost Controlling: active budget monitoring and controlling to minimize budget deviation and ensure completion of projects within approved budget.

 

2. System Upgradation Projects

Undertake the delivery of upgradation and resource enhancement projects with respect to the Hardware/Software Lifecycle of AMI Assets and Capacity Increase requirement as per the following:

Planning with AMI core systems and IT teams for upgrades and capacity enhancement of AMI core systems consisting of headend systems, IT servers and/or smart meters for enhanced efficiency and capacity.
Obtaining approvals for AMI backend systems upgrades in terms of scope and budget.
Locking SOW with vendors and executing upgrades with existing data migrations and backups, with minimum downtime and IT interruptions at the AMI existing system.
Lead the end to end delivery of all system upgradation projects covering User acceptance testing, success declaration post UAT, end user trainings till finalization of the HOTO process as per defined criteria.

 

3. Integration Projects

Overseeing all projects involving integration of AMI with other technologies e.g. GIS, SCADA etc. as per change management plan. This includes:

Understanding technicalities of other implemented technologies along with having strong grip on overall AMI landscape so decisions can be made on project plan requirements.
Working with inter/intra departmental teams and vendors on feasibility studies, fit gap and other forms of integration analysis so scoping and documentation can be produced.
Ensure vendors and internal resources are on-track with their requirements so the project plans remain on-track.
Lead all cross functional meetings related to integration projects as AMI representative and coordinate with all SME(s) for smooth project delivery
Ensure smooth handover of project post go-live to relevant SME
Delegation of project-based tasks to internal teams enabling timely completion of project
Responsible for ensuring the availability of project requisite documents and training material from change management team for enabling of internal teams.
 

4. Team Management and their Capability Building

     
Building high performance project delivery teams by coaching and mentoring, resolving conflicts, developing their strengths, and improving their opportunities areas. This includes:
Suggest training for under commands

Maximizing the engagement time of project delivery team as per their assigned targets
Determining the targets that project delivery team will work toward and monitoring their progress.
Identify potential training opportunities and skillset improvement areas of each delivery team member for achieving optimal productivity levels.
Strategizing best approach to assigned tasks and direct team in developing plans to accomplish them.
