Purpose

This position owns the operational availability of  SAP landscape portfolio - including S/4HANA, BTP, BW, ISU, ERP, and CE and holds exceptional significance within the IT as it maintains system uptime and performance to support uninterrupted business services for SAP ISU, ERP & CE.
This role handles end-to-end SAP platform operations, performing BASIS administration, upgrades, and technical maintenance. It manages daily system activities, applies security and compliance configurations, and executes standard operational processes aligned with enterprise IT controls. It also performs system performance tuning, and executing disaster recovery procedures, the role maintains the stability and integrity of business processes running on SAP. 
The SAP landscape forms the backbone of K-Electric’s business operations, any disruption in SAP landscape would directly impact customer satisfaction, financial stability, and regulatory compliance, resulting in reputational and revenue related risks for the organization. 
This position contributes to operational excellence by ensuring a stable, scalable, and optimized SAP landscape to ensure business continuity retaining K Electric’s place as a leading Utility company in Pakistan.

Education (Mandatory)

Bachelor/Master Computer Science/Software engineering/IT
SAP Certifications: S/4 HANA Administration, Fiori Administration, SAP Security

Years of Experience

Total Experience: (Minimum) 6+ Years
•    SAP Experience: Minimum 5+ years – Managing S/4HANA & SAP RISE Landscape 
•    SAP Cloud Products: 2+ Years

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge:

    SAP S/4HANA & BTP Operational Expertise: In-depth, practical knowledge of performing daily administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting for S/4HANA, BW, and BTP.
    SAP System Lifecycle & Release Execution: Expertise in directly executing patching, kernel upgrades, support packs, and managing the hands-on implementation of technical changes (QA to Production).
    Applied SAP Security & Compliance: Strong, practical understanding of implementing IAG, SoD rules, UI masking controls, DR documentation, and ensuring alignment with IT security frameworks at an operational level.
    Hands-on SAP HANA Database Administration: Practical, working knowledge of HANA DB operation, backup/restore, monitoring, and performance tuning for daily support.
    Direct Performance Monitoring & RCA: Knowledge of implementing and utilizing monitoring solutions and personally performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repeat incidents.
    Disaster Recovery (DR) Execution: Understanding of backup/restore procedures, RTO/RPO, and active, direct participation in DR drills and gap closure.

Area of Responsibilities


1    SAP Platform Operations     
     -    Manage SAP BASIS for S/4HANA, BW, and cloud components.
-    Maintain and monitor systems proactively in line with SLAs.
-    Perform patching, upgrade, and optimize performance.
-    Handle support tickets and resolve technical issues.
-    Support RISE with SAP and manage SAP Cloud services


2    Compliance & Security     
     -    Look after Identity & Access Management (IAG), SoD rules, and UI masking controls.
-    Align platform operations with IT security frameworks and audit requirements.
-    Monitor license utilization and manage user access.
-    Ensure compliance while supporting secure and efficient SAP operations.   


3    Release Management     
     -    Apply best practices for technical changes from QA to Production, minimizing risk and downtime.
-    Manage transport to ensure smooth and controlled distribution change.
-    Coordinate patching, upgrades, and capacity planning activities.
-    Plan and oversee system maintenance to support operational stability.    


4    Resilience & DR     
     -    Maintain backup/restore procedures for SAP systems.
-    Execute/participate in DR drills to meet RTO/RPO; close gaps found in exercises.
-    Handle HA/DR setup across primary and DR sites (on-prem/cloud.
-    Manage Web Dispatcher and load balancing mechanisms for smooth and uninterrupted access.   

 

5    People Management     
     -    Guide the BASIS team and deliver technical expertise.
-    Establish S/4HANA BASIS standards, requirements, and operational runbooks.
-    Partner closely with Infra, DB, and Security teams for seamless service operations.
