Purpose
To ensure reduction in distribution loss through monitoring gaps between energy entering into the system and getting billed to the consumers. Supervise theft detection activity along with carrying out strategic actions on identified circuits. |
Minimum Education
Education (Mandatory)
Bachelors/ Masters Degree with Specialization in Electrical Engineering

5 - 7 years’ relevant experience.

- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the teams.
- Lead development, change management and objective structurization plans.
- Co-ordinate the performance management review process – probationary, mid and annual reviews; regular catch-up meetings with individual team members on periodical basis.
Business
Loss Monitoring & Control
- Ensure loss reduction by discouraging use of hook connections (legal/illegal) and promoting use of energy through metered connections.
- To ensure monitoring of Feeder/PMT wise losses and taking appropriate measures to recover units lost.
- Oversee detection of theft and related discrepancies in the existing system and follow up for due corrective action with the concerned department/node.
- Identify other loss reduction avenues and coordinate with relevant departments i.e. Preventive Maintenance, New Connection to implement loss reduction projects/schemes.

Quality SIRs:
- Ensure quality of SIRs and suggest appropriate actions based on the data/observations gathered through SIRs.
- Arrange SIRs for proper resolution of billing inquiries.
- Ensure covering all legal formalities encompassing the above work scope.
Consumer Mapping:
- Supervise Initial Mapping for creating records of connections branching out of a PMT/SS.
- Oversee Conformation Mapping on regular basis to verify existing mapping records.
Sweeping of PMTs:
- Identify Feeder and PMT/ SS with high losses per consumer for sweeping process.
- Oversee consumers’ circuitry health and count on any particular PMT/SS and ensure undertaking corrective measures as required locally or through coordination with other functions.
Area of Responsibility Continued
Overseeing Meter Inspection Team:
- Prioritize work to achieve optimal performance and prepare daily working mechanism for teams in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper on-job training for newly hired staff and in parallel ensure that the entire field force is perfectly equipped to undertake inspection tasks including PPEs, SPEs and necessary tools.
- Ensure that field teams are properly briefed and trained on all related safety protocols.
- Ensure regular site spot checks to identify non-efficient performers and undertake subsequent corrective measures.
- Teams should also be observed for their work habits, time management, diligence, attitude and behavioral practices.
Reporting & Performance Analysis:
- Evaluate and monitor the inspection teams’ progress towards KPIs and business targets and take action where necessary to ensure that the organization’s objectives are achieved.
- Review SIRs returned to office to assure proper completion of assigned work; review and act on special comments/ remarks noted by teams.
Customer Centricity:
- Interact with consumers routed through Customer Care for necessary discussion on their respective queries/ cases whenever required.
- Ensure that all received complaints are processed and closed within prescribed time.
External Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a brand ambassador and ensure necessary rapport building with all external stakeholders.
Health, Safety & Environment
Ensure that Department operates in accordance with all the applicable health, safety and environmental protocols leading towards safety and well-being of staff & public.
