Purpose

 

This position manages and controls the complete Plant Mechanical Maintenance, Condition Monitoring and Plant Projects execution addition of new plant equipment. Plans, executes, monitors, records and reports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities of plant equipment and relevant plant structure; Develops and implement departmental strategic objectives; Prepare and follow department annual budget and annual outage; Analyze and do RCA for failures; Communicate with internal and external suppliers and customers. Hires, trains, assigns tasks to sub-ordinates and reviews performance.

Education

B.E - Mechanical from HEC recognized university.

Knowledge

  • Advance knowledge of maintenance management with expertise in planning, budgeting, cost and benefit analysis, contracts management.
  • Key understanding of company business operations including finance, supply chain management and logistics
  • Understanding of SAP CMMS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office etc.
  • HSEQ standards and practices
  • Permit to work & LOTO systemv

Experience

At least 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in Power Generation sector

Area of Responsibilities

 

MAINTENANCE BUDGETING AND PLANNING (10%)

  • Prepares department annual budget for the requirement of material, first time procurement and external services.
  • Coordinates with business finance and supply chain team for procurement and planning.
  • Explores options for major overhauling e.g.: 60K, connecting rod replacement and prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets
  • Follows and reviews Long Term Agreements (MSA) technical scope and contractual points in renewal.

ASSET MANAGEMENT (40%)

  • Prepares Long Term Maintenance Plan and Annual Outage Plan
  • Plans, executes, monitors, controls and reports scheduled and unscheduled maintenances of all plant equipment.
  • Prepares Asset Criticality Matrix as per criticality
  • Plans, executes and monitors new equipment addition and modification in the existing system
  • Records, monitors, analyzes and reports all maintenance details on CMMS SAP, Excel sheets and hard copies.
  • Prepares and implements SOPs, work instructions and checklists of department.
  • Collect, save and implement OEM technical instructions.
  • Manages condition monitoring oil analysis of equipment
  • Assures timely testing and renewal of certifications, skills, tools and equipment in accordance with standards.
  • Communicates and coordinates with internal department team i.e. Electrical, Operations, Performance and HSEQ for effective operations and maintenances activities.

MATERIAL AND SERVICES MANAGEMENT (25%)

  • Manages inventory; Orders and procures items and external services as per requirement, follows up with the material suppliers, contractors, service providers for technical evaluation, negotiations and delivery of goods, follows up with Imports & Clearance department for shipment, follows up with Treasury/Finance team for payments
  • Sets re-order level and safety stock of the necessary items
  • Coordinates with Long Agreement (MSA) suppliers and vendors for material planning and delivery
  • Manages all services contracts.
  • Coordinates with material team in routine activities and improvement exercises.
  • HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIROMENT & QUALITY (15%)
  • Compliance of health, safety, environment, and all statutory requirements in accordance with company vision, mission, policies and code of conduct.
  • Collaborates with HSEQ team, operations, maintenance team and contractors at plant in improvement of HSEQ procedures and achievement of HSEQ objectives.
  • Conduct external and internal safety and technical audits as auditee.
  • Compliance of all audit observations, suggestions and recommendations through approved procedures.
  • Conducts and educates all team staff regarding safety rules and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures implemented at KTGTPS.
  • Participates regularly and effectively in HSEQ promotional activities.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT (10%)

  • Recruits technical and 3P sub-ordinates, conduct interviews of the candidates, evaluates and finalizes the candidates.
  • Assigns daily tasks, activities and projects to sub-ordinates.
  • Coordinates with shift maintenance and operation team for troubleshooting problems and timely rectification.
  • Conduct weekly safety talks, daily tool box talks and regular technical trainings to the staff.
  • Encourages and motivates sub-ordinates for the betterment of department and plant and career planning.
  • Promotes learning culture, team building and continuous improvement.
  • Handles administrative issues including recruitment, leaves, grievances and other issues.
  • Provides personal guidance to all subordinates and follow open door policy for all team members.
