Purpose
This position manages IT facility management portfolio, i.e., data centers and IT facilities across K Electric and holds exceptional organizational significance by ensuring business continuity while supporting new ventures through the commercial data center business.
This position focuses on managing Tier-III data center design, construction, commissioning, and day-to-day facility and data center operations, including BMS oversight, access control management, environmental monitoring, and core IT infrastructure support and ensures 24/7 operational reliability through preventive maintenance, KPI monitoring, incident and problem management, vendor coordination, and cross-team operational alignment. Additionally, this position supports K Electric’s commercial data center initiative by ensuring facility readiness, supporting infrastructure enhancements, managing deployments and expansions.
Any lapses in this role would jeopardize K-Electric's operations, cause service interruptions, reduce efficiency, and create compliance issues undermining customer trust and business continuity.
This role drives operational excellence and support new ventures through advanced data center modernization, positioning K-Electric as a technology leader in the utility sector and unlocking new revenue growth opportunities.
Education (Mandatory)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science / IT
Years of Experience
Total Experience: 8+ years in IT (minimum requirement)
• Datacenter Management Experience: 6+ years Tier 3 datacenters
• Facility Management Experience: 4+ years, IT server rooms, Health & Safety Procedures
Functional Competencies
Area of Responsibilities
1 Support for Building Tier-III Data Center
- Manage the data center design phase to create a Tier-III compliant blueprint, ensuring all technical, security, and operational requirements are met.
- Manage end-to-end construction and commissioning, including vendor coordination, contract compliance, budget and schedule management, system integration, redundancy testing, and operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with global standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements while establishing preventive maintenance schedules, monitoring tools, and operational procedures for 24/7 reliability.
- Coordinate with internal operations, IT, facilities, and security teams to plan smooth transition to live operations and integrate BMS, UPS, fire suppression, and network infrastructure.
- Establish and monitor key operational KPIs, conduct risk assessments, implement mitigation plans, and support readiness for future expansion and hybrid deployments to ensure scalable, fault-tolerant, and efficient operations.
2 Operations Management for Facility Management & Data center
- Manage day-to-day operations of facility management systems, including BMS, access control, energy monitoring, and environmental controls, ensuring uptime, safety, and compliance with operational standards
- Manage daily data center operations, including server, storage, network, and virtualization platform monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity management.
- Implement preventive maintenance, incident and problem management, and monitoring processes to ensure 24/7 reliability, fault tolerance, and service continuity.
- Coordinate with vendors, internal teams, and contractors to ensure timely resolution of operational issues, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor and track key operational metrics (KPIs) for performance, energy efficiency, and SLA compliance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support operational readiness for new deployments, expansions, and hybrid infrastructure projects, ensuring smooth transition from project completion to live operations.
3 Cross functional Collaboration and Vendor Management
- Coordinate operational activities across internal IT, facilities, and support teams to ensure smooth execution of data center and facility management tasks.
- Manage vendor relationships for operational services, including performance monitoring, SLA adherence, issue resolution, and contract compliance.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align operational initiatives with business requirements, digital transformation goals, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, and incident management to maintain uptime, reliability, and compliance with standards.
- Support planning and execution of deployments, expansions, and system integrations by aligning internal and external stakeholders for efficient execution.

4 Commercial Data Center Support for New Ventures Enablement
- Support commercial data center initiatives by coordinating day-to-day operational requirements and ensuring facility readiness for internal and external users.
- Assist in implementing infrastructure upgrades and enhancements to meet business needs and support revenue-generating services.
- Provide hands-on operational support during construction, expansion, and commissioning activities, ensuring facilities meet Tier-III standards and safety requirements.
- Monitor service availability, environmental performance, and SLA adherence through routine facility operations, preventive maintenance, and incident management.
- Support deployments and system documentation for hybrid data center initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable operations aligned with digital transformation goals.
5 People Management
- Talent Leadership: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing technical team, setting clear performance goals, managing talent development, and proactively addressing resource needs.
