Purpose:
Manager Electric Asset Management is responsible for leading the strategic direction and planning of the utility's asset management function. This role ensures the optimization of asset performance, sustainability of operations, and alignment of asset management strategies with organizational goals. The position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in asset management, planning, and optimization within the power distribution sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and deployment of the Distribution network-wide Asset Management Program (Switch Gears, Transformers, Poles, Over Head & Underground Cables) including asset life cycle management from acquisition till disposal.
- Preparation of business cases for investment in Distribution Network assets, maintenance budget planning, approval from Management/ Board and development of execution plan.
- Asset inspection, testing and maintenance based on defined SoPs, OEM guidelines, condition-based and predictive analysis.
- Identify and implement asset performance targets (KPIs) according to industrial standards, global best practices and OEM guidelines.
- Perform root cause failure analysis and preparation of control strategies to reduce asset downtime.
- Improvement in asset utilization and optimization of capital investments/ budget spending while maintaining the reliability targets as agreed with the Regulator.
- Development of asset management software/ tools for performance measurement/ monitoring including collection of asset data to support the development of Asset Management Program.
- Based on performance monitoring report develop a continuous improvement plan as a part of long-term strategy.
- Work with Engineering teams for the deployment of newly inducted technologies, especially ADMS and Smart Meter systems.
- Identification of asset related risks, risk impact and development/ implementation of mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Liaising with Regulatory body on asset performance framework.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred.
- IAM / CAMA certification would be preferred
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in asset management, strategy, and planning, preferably within the power distribution or utilities sector.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful asset management strategies.
- Experience with asset management software and data analytics tools.
