Purpose:

 

The purpose of this role is to support Generation Revenue and Tariff in carrying out tasks related to Reporting Models, Regulatory related requirements, and Service Level Agreements for all KE Generation Plants.

 

Education & Relevant Experience:

 

Qualified CA with training period completed, Qualified ACCA with 3 years of experience or a Bachelors’ Degree in Finance / Business Administration.

 

Area of Responsibility:


1 Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Management

  • Lead the end-to-end review, evaluation, and finalization of Power Purchase / Service Level Agreements, ensuring alignment with the Company's commercial, financial, legal, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including Legal, Technical, Regulatory Affairs, and counterparties, to facilitate timely execution of PPA / SLA.
  • Analyze and assess key contractual provisions, including tariff structures, capacity obligations, performance guarantees, payment mechanisms, force majeure, and termination clauses.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with counterparties and relevant authorities to secure favorable contractual terms while safeguarding the Company's and Plants’ interests.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), governance frameworks, and controls to ensure compliance with PPA / SLA obligations.
  • Monitor compliance with executed PPAs / SLA, proactively identify contractual risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to minimize commercial and operational exposure.
  • Maintain a repository of documentation, contractual obligations, amendments, and compliance requirements to support effective contract management.

 

2  Revenue Reporting and Modelling

  • Manage and maintain monthly revenue models for all power plants, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Coordinate with Plant Operations, Fuel Management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless revenue reporting and resolution of data-related issues.
  • Manage all revenue-related indexations, including fuel cost adjustments, quarterly indexations, insurance indexations, exchange rate adjustments, and other tariff components in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Review, validate, and maintain backend operational and financial data received from plants, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and continuous process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive databases and reporting tools to support revenue forecasting, performance tracking, and management decision-making.
  • Analyze monthly revenue variances and key performance indicators, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities impacting plant profitability and cash flows.
  • Monitor areas affecting plant revenues, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct detailed reviews and analysis of management reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members involved in reporting and analysis activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, reporting timelines, and best practices.
  • Continuously review and enhance reporting frameworks, processes, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
  • Address ad hoc analytical, reporting, and business information requirements from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

 

3 Regulatory Management

  • Coordinate with relevant representatives of regulatory authority on licensing, tariff, compliance, and commercial matters.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings, responses, and reports within prescribed timelines.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the Company's commercial and financial interests.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely information for regulatory submissions.
  • Support management during regulatory proceedings, meetings, hearings, and consultations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and maintain records of all submissions, approvals, and correspondence.

 

4    Stakeholder Management & Conflict Resolution

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Plant teams to ensure alignment of contractual, commercial, and operational requirements.
  • Facilitate resolution of stakeholder concerns and disputes through effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by providing timely updates on key commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
  • Collaborate with plant teams to address data-related issues and ensure adherence to standardized processes and reporting requirements.
  • Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and collaboration while driving cross-functional initiatives and decision-making.
