Purpose

This position within Network Engineering is responsible for preparation and development of specifications and standard operating procedures against the product that are part of linear assets i.e. Earth fault indicators, Busbars, Conductors, Tools (all types), Cable ladders, Connectors, hardwares, insulating covers, jumpers and clamps. The role of this possible also includes development of technical evaluation report of offered products by vendors as mentioned above and including  HT/LT cables, HT/LT Poles, Busbar trunking systems, Cable joints/terminations, Energy Meters . The role is responsible for assistance in site surveys, field trials and inspection of materials related to distribution network.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Relevant Experience:BE in Electrical Engineering with minimum 3+ years of experience in relevant field, with knowledge of Power utility infrastructure.

Knowledge    Skills
    Knowledge regarding network installations such as cables, conductor and allied accessories.
    Equipped with knowledge of local and international standardization of codes and specification regarding electrical products that are part of power utility distribution network
    Must be familiar with the industry’s best practices for distribution network designs. 
    Ability to prepare electrical drawings on a software

1    Development of specifications of materials    25
    Prepare the specifications related to distribution materials and equipments including Earth fault indicators, Busbars, Conductors, Tools (all types), Cable ladders, Connectors, hardwares, insulating covers, jumpers, clamps  and submit to portfolio lead for review and approval. This includes the arrangement of relevant international standards and their review so that same can be incorporated. Requirement of sampling, inspection criteria, material compositions are made part of specifications. This includes the incorporation of final remarks from team members after deliberation is done. Upload of finalized specification on distribution portal for facilitation of stakeholders.    

2    Development of Standing operating Procedures (SOPs)    25
    Prepare the standard operating procedures for distribution technical processes or equipments related to  Earth fault indicators, Busbars, Conductors, Tools (all types), Cable ladders, Connectors, hardwares, insulating covers, jumpers, clamps  and submit to portfolio lead for review, approval and circulation to relevant CFT members and stakeholders. This includes the incorporation of final remarks from CFT members after deliberation is done. The SOPs include the rules and methods of installation, testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and handling for effective utilization of materials and equipment in network. Upload of finalize SOPs on distribution portal for facilitation of all users.    

3    Preparation of Technical Evaluation of Linear Asset Materials    25
    Prepare the technical evaluation report of all materials pertaining to linear assets against the product offered from different vendors. This include to refer the approved KE specifications and verify the clause wise requirement for preparation of technical evaluation report. This also comprise of vetting of design drawings, coordination with vendors/manufacturers and fetching of complete technical details.    

4    Coordination and assistance in site surveys and field trial    15
    Coordinate with relevant stakeholders regarding field trial of products. This includes to send the invitation of the selected location for field trial and site survey to participants across KE, ensure the presence of each nominated participants, noting down the user remarks against the field trial, compilation of remarks and submit to line manager for approval and incorporation specifications or SOP.    

5    Inspection of materials    10
    Inspect the new material delivered by vendor in stores jointly with receiving and inspection department against the KE specifications and technical evaluation report. Communicate the  acceptance/rejection criteria of material to receiving and inspection department according to KE specifications for all future deliveries of material.
