Purpose
This position ensures that all machinery and equipment under the domain of BOP Department should run smoothly and reliably, planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance, responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, repairing equipment, supervising engineering and technical staff, obtaining specialist components, managing budgets, maintaining statistical and financial records, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, creating maintenance procedures, managing stocks of supplies and equipment. These responsibilities are effectively performed keeping in view to meet departmental objectives which further reflects in combine Plant Goals and Objectives.
Minimum Education
Years of Experience
04-05 years of Experience in maintenance of rotary and stationary equipment preferably in a power plant.
Area of Responsibilities
1: Maintenance Regime of Department and Its implementation
1. Instrument and Service Air Compressors of Unit No’s 1 to 6.
2. All pumps and mechanical accessories installed in fuel unloading stations of unit no’s 1 to 6.
3. Diesel engines and their auxiliaries of emergency diesel generation of no 1,2,3,4 & 5.
4. Sump pumps at minus 5.5m and at raw water Basins.
5. Drain pumps and drain condensate pumps of all units.
6. All firefighting pumps.
7. Hydrogen generating station and compressors.
8. SF6 Building Air compressors
9. Dredger and CWP Station
2. Execute routine and outage maintenance work, and coordinator with technical officers and shift engineers in the insurance of work permit.
3. Keep maintenance records of the section.
4. Prepare documents for the issuance of material spares, lubricants etc. intimate the stock position to the manager MBOP.
5. Prepare periodic reports on the work of his section.
6. Provide Mechanical Maintenance expertise in consolation with Manager MBOP to their subordinates.
7. To ensure observance of safety measures and create a safe workplace.
8. To introduce improved and economic methods in maintenance by acquiring latest technology in this field.
9. Maintaining discipline by ensuring punctuality of workers and observance of the rules.
10. Keeping record of attendance/overtime.
11. Any task assigned by manager /DGM pertaining to the function of the department.
2: Resource Management and Planning
1. Budget Planning, Material management and Procurement.
2. Preparation of budgetary items required for the Fiscal year.
3. Collection of material data and FTP items throughout the year.
4. Establish smooth procurement of budgetary items by maintaining follow-up.
3: Internal/External Audits, ISO Standards and audits
1. Ensure implementation of HSE Codes in the department.
2. Preparation of necessary documentation required to meet the standards of ISO certifications and their implementation.
3. Carrying out audits of other assigned sections being an internal auditor and submit report of observations or non-compliance if any.
4: Maintaining a safe workplace for employees
1. Encourage team to report near miss or hazard at plant in order to build a safe work place.
2. Compliance of permit to work system for all employees and contractors.
3. Carryout safety walks in workshop and BOP areas for identification of safety hazards and housekeeping issue and plan for their rectification.
5: Team Building and Coordination
1. To bring-up diversity in team and department. Team building and counseling of staff regarding importance of team work and Sharing of work load.
2. Streamline the coordination between operation and maintenance department for the effective utilization of resources.
3. Built an effective team by assigning inter-section jobs to ensure diversity in team. 4. Outlines training need for the maintenance staff.
