Deputy Manager CHSEQ (Generation & Transmission)

Purpose:

This position contributes to assist the Manager Safety G&T – CHSEQ in providing facilitation and monitoring of compliance to Corporate HSEQ Policies and procedures, Process Safety Management, legal and other requirements through practicing effective Safety Management System tools including audits, inspections, trainings, incident investigations, development of HSE plans and procedures and data analysis in BU Generation and Transmission.

Area of Responsibilities:

Safety Inspections

  • Perform Safety Inspection of Grid Stations, Transmission Sites, Generation Plants and Project Sites as per Safety Inspection Plan.
  • Prepare safety inspection reports and share with concerned department for feedback and closure of open observations.
  • Maintain Safety Inspection record for effective tracking and continuous follow-up.
  • Conduct SIR Analysis to identify observation trends on defined frequency.

Incident Reporting and Investigation

  • Coordinate with Business Unit HSE and Line Management of Generation plants, Transmission Depts. for Incident Reporting and timely submission of required forms and detailed investigation reports.
  • Gather Initial details of any serious Work Related and/or process safety incidents and/or Public Incident and prepare a Flash report for onward sharing with KE Leadership.
  • Categorize all Work related and other incidents in coordination with Health care and share with line management for submission of required forms.
  • Review incident reports (first information and detailed ones) submitted by Line and Follow up Closures of recommendations.
  • Coordinate with Concerned line management in case of any public incident including site visit and submission of required forms with relevant departments within stipulated timelines.
  • Participate in Investigations of LWI and Fatal Incidents in BU Generation and Transmission.

HSE Audits

  • Participate in internal HSEQ Audits of BU Generation and Transmission departments.
  • Take audit findings, record objective evidence and incorporate observations in audit report as per prescribed format.
  • Prepare Audit reports and summary to present in closing meetings.
  • Conduct Scorings of Audit reports as per scoring criteria and share with Audit lead for review.
  • Conduct Management Safety Audit/Spot Checks as per defined frequency at KE Location/Activities and share reports with concerned line management for appropriate actions.

HSE Trainings and Awareness

  • Conduct Trainings for BU Generation and Transmission employees as per Training Plan.
  • Development of training content as per training needs of Management and Non-Management staff.
  • Conduct Safety Induction Training for newly inducted employees as and when assigned.
  • Conduct Annual Safety Refreshers Trainings.

HSE Plans & Procedures

  • Development of corporate procedures keeping in view the legal and regulatory requirements along with applicable HSE requirements.
  • Participate in review of Contractor/ Sub-Contractor HSE plans working in different areas of BU Generation and Transmission.
  • Participate in review of Departmental HSE Manual, Critical risk assessments and JSAs of BU Generation & Transmission and project sites
  • Regular study and self-aware regarding new procedures and updated regulatory requirements
  • Proactively initiate/ introduce value adding tools / systems for improvement
  • Participate in Departmental Meetings and meetings with relevant internal/external stakeholders regarding HSE Issues.
  • Maintain strong coordination with BU HSEs, Safety Coordinators and Line Management regarding HSE matters and issues to ensure effective implementation.

HSE Data Analysis

  • Maintain record of all Incidents (Employee, Public, Contractors, etc.) in BU Generation & Transmission including tracking of different incident reports and recommendation along with closures.
  • Conduct analysis of incident trends, safety observations and violations in BU Generation and Transmission and identify key areas of improvement in HSE Management system.
  • Maintain and Provide HSE related data for BU G&T on prescribed formats on defined frequencies.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering)

Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of HSE Management Systems
  • Audits Methodologies, Incident Investigation, understanding of PSM
  • HSE Certifications Preferred (ISO 45001, PSM, NEBOSH, Fire Safety, etc.)
  • Regulatory & Lenders Reporting
  • Knowledge of Power Generation / Transmission / Sub Stations is preferred

Experience:

Minimum 03-04 years of experience, minimum 02 years in HSE.
