Purpose: The purpose of the Deputy Manager Business Finance - Transmission Projects role is to provide comprehensive support in managing the financial aspects of transmission projects by ensuring effective planning, controlling, and monitoring of budgets. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial models, coordinating with technical teams, and ensuring compliance with commercial terms. The role is crucial for providing timely updates on project status, which aids in strategic decision-making. Success in this position requires strong financial acumen, project management expertise, and effective communication skills to ensure the division meets its financial objectives while supporting organizational goals.

Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating with Transmission technical teams to obtain technical requirements of new Grids/TLs and project augmentations to meet demand.
  • Analyze new projects and corroborate loading with existing capacity of surrounding grids and TLs.
  • Prepare business cases and perform financial analysis for proposed new projects.
  • Develop project investment models for regulatory asset base (RAB).
  • Assist in preparation of costing benchmarks and finalize reasoning and justification presentations with technical teams for management, leadership, boards of directors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial terms of contracts through effective coordination with user departments and contractors.
  • Prepare commercial correspondence with vendors and verify and process invoices in compliance with contract terms.
  • Liaise with Accounts and Treasury to ensure timely payment releases to vendors.
  • Assist the user department in preparing management approval notes.
  • Support project commercial closure in liaison and coordination with users.
  • Assist in preparation of various reports for transmission projects for reporting to NEPRA.
  • Coordinate with BF Transmission project teams to consolidate reports and prepare drafts for supervisor review.
  • Compile and report on cash spending monthly for all transmission projects.
  • Review accounting entries in SAP to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of the Annual CAPEX budget for transmission projects.
  • Assist in compilation and monitoring of Annual CAPEX and REVEX budgets for projects.
  • Maintain monthly reporting of project financial status.
  • Coordinate with user departments for timely asset tagging and prepare capitalization work relating to invoices, accruals, equipment lists, and tagging.
  • Obtain required approvals and upload capitalization data in SAP.
  • Provide monthly end status reports on payments, asset capitalization, and closures.
  • Support the review of new grid cases and estimate costs for grid and TL construction projects.
  • Assist in reviewing draft power supply agreements to minimize commercial risks.

Education:

  • ACCA
  • BBA


Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
