Purpose

The role of this position is to implement, manage, and continuously monitor SCADA system security controls across the Master Station and Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), ensuring the availability, integrity, and secure operation of SCADA systems along with all associated network and security-related hardware and software. This includes monitoring system performance, network communications, and security events to identify vulnerabilities and ensure timely mitigation, with the objective to maintain secure, reliable, and uninterrupted SCADA operations while protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring real-time data integrity at LDC/DRC, within the limits of established company policies and procedures, SCADA security policies, departmental strategies, and cybersecurity governance frameworks.

 

 

 

Education (Mandatory)

Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Science or a related field is typically preferred. 

Knowledge Areas

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco switching and firewall product line, including configuration, troubleshooting, and security implementation
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, industrial protocols) in OT/SCADA environments

Years of Experience

1–2 years of experience in network support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Area of Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability and integrity of overall SCADA system by deploying effective controls and hardware/software configuration to mitigate risk and vulnerabilities
  • Periodic testing, coordination with vendor & other stakeholders to do proactive maintenance security of SCADA systems.
  • Planning and performing threat and risk analysis and definition of countermeasures in line with risk acceptance criteria for ICS System
  • Prepare & Maintain technical documentation related to SCADA/Cyber security to ensure adherence to security framework & guidelines
  • Specification and implementation of security requirements for the SCADA systems. Support for meeting international and regional security standards and regulations (like NIST, ISO, WIB, NERC-CIP) for certification and compliance
  • Rigorous monitoring of threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits in SCADA OT environments and appropriate mitigation techniques
  • Security patching of network hardware/software, ACLs & ports configuration in firewall , DMZ and VPN network creation , establishing secure intra-site communication b/w Master station and DRC, hardening of SCADA application and OS security
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, network switches and other smart devices based on 61850 protocol 
  • Verify implementation regarding security requirements (e.g. as part of system test, factory or site acceptance test) , Involvement in the analysis and handling of security vulnerabilities & incidents
  • Evaluation of third party components regarding product & solution security and provide support and feedback to manager
  • Keep up-to-date with recent developments in cyber security and plan effectively to mitigate new threats and vulnerabilities to protect the integrity of ICS/OT system
  • Responsible to ensure compliance of all SCADA system process with QMS system ISO 9001:2015 practices, as part of departmental Quality Management Team.
  • Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining network and security infrastructure.
  • Responsibly adopt all defined SCADA operational and safety operating procedures and policies
  • Escalate all hardware, software and all attached peripherals problems to the line manager
  • Ensure execution of all assigned tasks as per defined safety and operational procedures and policies
  • Ensure availability of presence in emergencies and exigencies round the clock.
  • Abide by instructions to handle other systems as needed /instructed/directed by line manager and/or above authorities
  • Participate in safety drills/meetings, SOPs & housekeeping. Responsibly adopt all HSEQ recommended safety procedures and PPE’s during site/field visits.                          
  • Responsible to implement all safety procedures as advised by HSEQ dept. in all activities of SCADA hardware systems.
