Purpose of the Job

To research on new market developments and key policy changes / reforms in context of the local power sector and prepare briefs / presentations to update / facilitate decision making in view of these developments / changes. Further, will be responsible to gather and analyze data for benchmarking of KE’s operational and financial indicators with peer entities locally as well as within the region.

The role also requires preparation of comments on key sector developments including IGCEP, National Electricity Policy, etc. effectively articulating KE’s stance backed by evidence-based research. Further, will be required to provide support to CFTs formed on Company’s strategy and positioning in an evolving Energy Sector.

Education

Bachelors in Business Administration, Accounting & Finance, Economics /ACCA having at least 02 years of experience / BS Electrical Engineering

Job Responsibilities

1. Competitive Markets:

  •  - Develop detailed understanding of the CTBCM model including the applicable policy and regulatory framework.
  •  - Support Line Manager in tasks related to KE’s integration into CTBCM in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
  •  - Support Line Manager in preparation of comments on changes in legal, policy and regulatory framework during the implementation phase of CTBCM assessing their implications on KE as well as the sector at large. 
  •  - Support Line Manager in preparation of pagers / presentations / briefs for meetings / regulatory proceedings and Senior Management / Leadership / BoD.

 

2. Implementation & Monitoring of transition towards Competitive Markets:

  • - Support Line Manager in identifying interventions required to make a smooth transition towards competitive / open markets. 
  • - Active participation in implementation and monitoring of transitory activities required to operate under a competitive market regime, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • - Assist Line Manager in consolidating status of implementation activities, feedback from working groups to prepare update on the Implementation Plan / Activities for KE’s transition into CTBCM.
  • - Support Line Manager in preparation of pagers / briefs on commercial and regulatory matters / issues requiring engagement with external stakeholders.

 

3. Sector Reforms:

  • - Develop good understanding of policies and key developments in the power sector including IGCEP, National Electricity Plan etc. to assess KE positioning in the sector. 
  • - Support Line Manager in preparation of comments for advocacy of KE's viewpoints in sector level developments.
