Job Purpose:

To ensure the security, stability, and optimal performance of enterprise databases by implementing robust security measures, monitoring systems, and managing lifecycle activities. The role supports business continuity by safeguarding critical data, driving compliance, and providing operational support.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years of experience.

Areas of Responsibilities:

• Proficient with Database Security, features and utilities, SQL Server Configuration Manager, etc.), combining the knowledge of these tools with technology roadmaps and implementation plans to move Emerson into a sustainable maturity model for database security.
• Utilize exceptional knowledge of securing applications running on Oracle and SQL server databases to create implementation plans, ensuring successful completion of those plans.
• Create OEM alerts and reports that provide notifications for Oracle and SQL server Databases.
• Maintain the Database Access Monitoring (DAM) infrastructure which includes performance tuning, event collection, and use case development on the security stack; configure enhancements and upgrades to the DAM tool based on organization needs.
• Evaluate and review issues related to IT security attacks, breaches, or business-related issues; perform necessary procedures for issue resolution.
• Investigate security events and responds according to the Bank's incident response plan; escalate events as needed.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of database security to create implementation plans, ensuring successful completion of those plans in a timeline manner that maintains current, recommended levels of protection.
• Communicate strategy and progress to stakeholders and all levels of management.
• Work with Audit teams and network security teams on needed basis.
• Develop policies and procedures to provide governance for database/application security
• Patch Management and Version Control.
• Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases tools. 
• Monitor application related jobs and data replication activities.
• Monitors and ensure error free services from Database end.
• Analyze traces, debug stored procedures, triggers, and packages.
• Handles complex databases on different types of OS (Linux, Solaris, Windows)
• Assist developers, operations team, and data warehouse team in day to day operational support! 
• Database Lifecycle Management, Archiving and compression techniques
