Purpose:

This position will assist Business Finance on field at the Plant, to work with team members of Plants for a close co-ordination and exchange of knowledge / information with respect to Tariff structure and actual operations and their impacts on each other. 

 

This position would assist the Controller of Plant Finance who and will review all Revenue calculations before submissions to Central Team. The candidate Further, would also carry out and review all the information flowing from Central finance Team, including Capex reporting, Revex reporting, Outages and their impacts, Plant wise P&L, Long term agreements, budgets, etc, explain and preparing working papers to be presented before the Complex / Plant heads. 

 

 

Education & Relevant Experience:    

CA Part qualified/a Qualified ACCA with at least 6 years of relevant work experience or any other financial qualification commensuration experience 

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1    Revenue Reporting

    Revenue Reporting:
•    Preparing compliance to revenue reporting system to monitor performance across all plants.
•    Generate regular reports on revenue metrics, interalia Hourly Part load and Degradation Calculations, Outage Allowance Monitoring, Free Energy Implications, Failure to Dispatch, Plant Fuel & Availability Aspects, Startup Costs, and Heat Rate Losses.
•    Monitor changes in tariff structures and collaborate with senior management at plant and central finance teams to interpret tariff guidelines and implement necessary adjustments.

Adherence to Timelines:
•    Collaborate with central finance teams at HO and stakeholders at each plant & establish and establish mechanism for timely for revenue reporting processes to internal stakeholders.
•    Monitor progress and follow up with teams to ensure timely submission of revenue data.
•    Implement strategies to streamline reporting workflows and improve efficiency.

Stakeholder Negotiation:
•    Facilitate discussions to address concerns and align reporting practices across departments.

 

Data Analysis:
•    Analyze revenue data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential issues.
•    Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data-driven analysis.
•    Work with central finance teams to conduct variance analysis and explain discrepancies in revenue figures.

Process Improvement:
•    Suggest and assist in implementation of areas for process improvement in revenue reporting and compliance identified by central finance team.
•    Implement changes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of reporting systems.
•    Train staff on updated processes and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency.

Regulator Reviews:
•    Assist central finance teams in reviews conducted by regulatory authorities.
•    Ensure documentation and processes adhere to regulatory requirements.
•    Collaborate with relevant teams to address inquiries and provide necessary documentation.
•    Implement corrective actions and improvements based on review findings.

 

2    Finance Business Partner
•    Provides visibility of budget utilization to BU Generation 
•    Support stations to understand their P&L and other report and facilitate them facilitate Unit head to take necessary action to reduce cost and increase their revenue. 
•    Periodic meetings on issues and reports. 
•    Focuses to bridge the gap between Plant teams and different stakeholders from finance by providing them insights with respect to their performance and reasons for improving project selection in terms of financial feasibilities. 
•    Monitors and issues ad-hoc reports which highlight the results of investments and whether they are living up to expectations.
•    Close co-ordination with Plant / Complex heads to enable Tariff understanding and connection with actual operations, which will ultimately increase their profitability.
•    Manages balanced relationship, provide solutions to Generation BU where conflicts arise in order to fulfill the objectives and goals for KE. 
•    Provides feedback on investment plans which are shared during meetings; 
•    Work closely with technical team to develop multiple cost rationalization initiative such as localization, performs field visits to understand on-ground situations which affect value and return of investments
•    Capitalize areas of improvement through automation to utilize resources efficiently.
