Purpose

This position supports the Manager to plan and oversee the budget for smooth maintenance/project (TMOH circuits)/works-civil activities, looks after in coordination with Manager on the onsite/offsite maintenance (preventive/corrective timely completion of projects; and ensures the execution of projects with  vendors/contractors and manufacturers in accordance with KE requirements in terms of technical clarifications and conclude technical evaluations against their proposals/submittals. In collaboration with Manager carry out joint inspection of material and necessary laboratory testing and integrates departmental goals with these activities and carried out WITH an objective to keep the system reliable and stable by ensuring timely availability of material, ultimately reducing downtime of transmission line and restore energy supply to grid WITHIN the limits of organizational policies, higher-ups directives, SOPs, HSEQ, NEPRA rules & International standards such as IEC/VDE/ISO/ASTM.

Education

Bachelors of Engineering 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Electrical equipment specifically for Transmission Overhead lines (OHTL) & hardware. 

  • Prepare scope of work, BOQs, drawings and specifications. 

  • Knowledge of contractual terminologies. 

  • Command on SAP-MM for PR planning and formation. 

  • Familiar to HSEQ, safety procedures, material standards and specifications.

Area of Responsibilities

2. Maintenance (Preventive/Corrective) and Projects management 30%

  • Manages OHTL circuit tripping/emergency situation in an odd hour on call or at site with an objective to rectify the issue & restore the supply in minimum possible time. 

  • Conducts site visits to check the quality of work and make sure that the maintenance activity carried out in accordance to SOPs/HSEQ policy. 

  • Executes the departmental projects and supervises the procedures so that there are no delays in the project completion. 

  • Technical discussion with subordinates and higher ups 

  • Conducts site visit to monitor the quality of work during the project executed by the department or PID or TP-1000 and eyewitnesses the necessary testing performed at site or at manufacturers premises to endorse regarding the quality of material.  

  • Motivates staff towards culture for safety 

  • Encourages to adapt innovative thoughts to cater the faults in transmission lines such as RTV coating of insulators/composite insulators, upgrading of TL capacity and use of latest tools and equipment in order to maintain the healthiness of EHT network and to perform the maintenance activity timely with safe & ease technique.  

  • Develops specification of material and SOP by discussing with the colleagues and under the supervision of higher-ups to improve technical and operational performance of EHT network.

3. Training and development and reporting 10%

  • Maintains and save all the necessary documents such as  drawings, specifications, MR, PR, PO, CWRF etc. 

4. People Management 10%

  • Trains staff/subordinates according to the existing and revised departmental SOPs in coordination with safety coordinator.
