Assistant Engineer RTU/SAS

Purpose: To perform Maintenance and Adaptation Work at Outstation RTUs, SAS and HMI systems installed at grids and generating station in the region. Perform corrective and preventive maintenances at Outstations of the region. Attend APM and resolve SAS & RTU System Discrepancies to ensure full compliance of the system 24/7. Maintain record of site activities, maintenance performed and inventory consumption.

Education & Experience:

DAE Electrical / Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience of Maintenance and troubleshooting.

Knowledge & Skills:

• 220 / 132 / 11 KV Adaptation & Maintenance work
• Electrical Circuit Drawing and troubleshooting.
• Cable Laying, Routing and Termination Techniques.
• Routers, Ethernet and Fiber Optic Network Switches.
• Networking, Crimping and Punching Techniques.
• MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)

Responsibilities:

1. Perform adaptation work to link information signals from process RTU’s.
2. Installation, commissioning, testing and wiring of adaptation equipment (Relays, Transducers, etc.)
3. Cable laying and tagging for process connection from process to RTU.
4. Troubleshoot and trace faults.
5. Rectification of faults, laying and replacement of damaged Cables.
6. New installation on duplex/IFC/RTU panel at grid and generating stations.
7. Maintenance of HMI’s UPS and Network Switches at SAS stations.
8. Regular monitoring of temperature and environment of RTU system (Outstation Works, SAS and HMI system).
9. Participate in safety drills/meetings, SOPs & housekeeping.
10. Shifting of cubicles and equipment from one place to another
11. Log and maintain records for all above mentioned activities and assigned tasks.
12. Update Drawings as per the addition, updation/changes in the field and manage timely creation, updation and documentation of drawings of the region.
13. Meet Schedules and timelines, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
14. Ensure availability of presence in emergencies and exigencies round the clock.
15. Proper handling of parts and equipment.
16. Abide by instructions to handle other systems as needed /instructed/directed by line manager and/or above authorities
17. Ensure that all maintenance tools are properly insulated and calibrated and operating as intended.
18. Responsibly adopt all defined SCADA operational and safety operating procedures and policies.
19. Responsibly adopt all HSEQ recommended safety procedures and PPE’s during site/field visits.

Responsible to follow & implement all safety procedures as advised by HSEQ dept. in all maintenance activities.
