Assistant Engineer Physical Testing

Job Purpose

Oversees daily intake, physical inspection, and routing of energy meters. Coordinates with internal/ external stakeholders, maintains real-time tracking logs, ensures strict compliance with safety standards, and facilitates cross-departmental handoffs to optimize lab turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities

Material Inspection: Manage daily intake of materials; perform visual and technical condition checks to verify health condition, unit remarks and discrepancies.

Workload & Team Allocation: Assign daily testing and handling tasks across section to ensure optimal throughput and meet operational targets.

Chain of Custody & Logistics: Coordinate safe, daily transport and transfer of materials from multiple sections to and fro.

Record Keeping & Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate daily logs of meter submissions, receipts, processing statuses, and transfers in SAP.

Safety & Compliance: Enforce personal protective equipment (PPE) rules, material handling procedures, and safety guidelines during daily operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) or B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or related discipline).
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in utility meter handling, laboratory operations, or industrial quality control environment.
