Purpose –
The position reports directly to Director New Ventures and is responsible for developing robust long-term strategic growth roadmaps around organic and inorganic growth for the Company. Will be working closely with Director New Ventures and other stakeholders to assist in developing a long-term growth strategy and multi-year business plan. The incumbent will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with global and local private businesses, banking and multilateral partners to source and develop specific investment opportunities and coordinate all funding and investing activities for new projects and oversee execution
Responsibilities –
- New Ventures and Business Diversification
- Create new venture portfolio of organization by assisting in creating an environment in which this vertical can thrive by bringing and implementing global best-practice structures
- Lead and / or assist the end-to-end venture-building lifecycle from identifying potential business opportunities, to setting it up into a fully-operational and stand-alone entity.
- Analyze and appraise all aspects of new investment proposals (debt and or equity) including financial, operational, commercial, legal, corporate governance, and environmental and social sustainability elements; and prepare investment recommendations where appropriate
- Manage the portfolio of strategic investments and joint ventures
- Structure, negotiate and execute investment deals
- Negotiate investment term sheets and all financing documents on behalf of KE
- Identify new growth opportunities based on an in-depth pulse on market trends
- Provide an environment in which the team thrives and grows with and beyond the vertical
- People Management
Manage NV Team and the people development agenda by:
- Seeking regular feedback on personal development from Director and other stakeholders and implementing the same
- Ensuring regular performance related conversations with the team members, coaching & mentoring them and providing timely constructive feedback about their performance
- Supporting all team members to work on their development / improvement areas / career progression goals, identified as part of their professional development plans including but not limited to trainings and conferences
- Giving them exposure to all / appropriate aspects of transaction lifecycle and stakeholder management
Requirements –
• MBA or equivalent qualification with specialization in finance
• At least 12+ years of working experience in finance with a proven track-record of supporting the origination process, structuring and closing investments
• Experience in Corporate Development/Strategy or M&A or a background within PE and Investment Banking
