Purpose

  • The IT Business Partner (ITBP) has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface with assigned business units or functional areas for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.
  • The ITBP proactively serves as a “trusted advisor,” and is the primary IT point of contact to business line executives and managers. They operate as the key business contact representing IT in promoting IT services and capabilities.
  • The ITBP provides highly valued strategic consulting support and guidance through key IT initiatives.
  • ITBP communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests and projects and initiatives. They proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units.
  • ITBP partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g. return on investment, productivity, compliance).
  • ITBP provides support in delivering technological products that meet the needs of the business.
  • The ITBP focuses on strategic initiatives and planning activities for their business area. They strive to understand market challenges, including customer priorities and competitive issues.
  • ITBP to handle and lead projects with close coordination and support of technology/application development teams as Project Manager to ensure timely delivery of projects while keeping IT PMO with regular project updates.

Education

MS/MCS in Computer Science/Software Engineering or Computer Science Degree in combination of Business Administration Degree.

Knowledge

  • PMP certification (preferred)

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience on similar position along with project management experience

Area of Responsibilities

1. Project Management - 15%
•    Ensuring scope of work is well understood across the business user and development teams
•    Prioritize and assign project activities and plan resources based on priority of delivery
•    Ensuring all required documentation is being done in accordance with the SOP issued by PMO
•    Ensuring that quality of delivery meets the expectation of user department
  
2. Stakeholder Management - 10%

•    Identify & classify stakeholders by their interest and influence for effective management
•    Protecting interest & objectives of stakeholders, including business user department, by keeping an eye on all developments, happenings and events. Informing and involving all relevant parties where an event may impact interest and objectives of stakeholder.    


3. System Analysis & Design - 40%
•    Gather business requirements, analyze them and propose technological solution
•    Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts that satisfy end users requirements
•    Defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications
•    Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements
•    Define system architecture, interfaces and communication/integration requirements     

4. System Support - 25%   
•    Monitor day to day raised H2H (support tickets raised by user), and ensure H2H are resolved by relevant team member within the TAT as laid down by PMO/IT Management 
•    Performing root cause analysis on frequently raised issues to identify improvement opportunities to reduce team support time, efforts and better facilitate business user.  

5. Team Development - 10%
•    Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures
•    Coach, mentor, motivate and train team member on emerging technologies and recent trends in IT industry
•    Empowering team members to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.
