Purpose

  • To assist the Management in the implementation of sound, safe systems of work in compliance with Safety Rules, National Laws and industry best practices but with specific responsibilities of assisting in the administration of Safety Management Systems.
  • To plan, organize, supervise, control, and coordinate the activities of HSEQ section of Transmission.

Education

 Diploma qualification in OHS or other Safety certifications.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the following KPIs:
  • Lost time (in hours) due to accidents (including fatalities)
  • Number of safety inspections for the month
  • Number of Firefighting trainings in the month

Experience

Minimum 3 years of work experience as an HSE Officer.

Area of Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary administrative support to Safety Department to ensure that routine activities are carried out smoothly.
  • Maintain an effective follow-up with OHSAS 18001:2007, EMS ISO 14001:2004 audits so as to enable adherence to the audit process.
  • Arrange the issuance of  Safety statistical reports & graphs to all concerned parties by agreed timelines.
  • Suggest means and ways for risk control and management of risk.
  • Encourage and promote safe work practice and culture at the premises.
  • To carry out all jobs and tasks assigned by Manager HSEQ.
  • Ensure 100% personal protective equipment compliance for Tranmission employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Address all Environment related issues especially with respect to effluents and emissions and their risk assessment.
  • Prepare and guide staff to meet any accidents and disasters.
  • Implement rules and procedures of EPA or any other environment monitoring / governing agencies. 
  • Well conversant with firefighting system equipment’s and their application.
  • Support and achieve Power Station’s operation in accordance with the relevant Pakistan environmental, health and safety regulations and standards in collaboration with above site functions.
